About this index and how it is edited
Sex Abuse Litigation collects news reporting on sexual abuse that involves institutions: companies, schools and universities, and governments and public agencies. It focuses on what institutions knew, how they responded, and what courts, prosecutors and lawmakers did about it.
What each entry is
Each entry is a short summary written by this site, plus a link to the original article. We do not republish articles. To read the full story, follow the link to the outlet that reported it.
Editorial standards
- Claims are described as allegations until a court, jury or prosecutor has acted on them. A lawsuit is not a finding of liability, and charges are not a conviction.
- We never name survivors or plaintiffs who are private individuals, even when the original article does.
- We never publish details that could identify a minor.
- Accused individuals are named only when they are public figures or have been criminally charged.
- Summaries avoid graphic detail. They say what happened at the institutional level, in plain language.
How entries are added
New reporting is gathered several times a day with the help of AI research tools, and each entry links to its source so readers can check it. The labels on each entry (stage, institution type, location) reflect the reporting at the time it was published and may not reflect later developments.
Corrections and removal requests
If an entry is inaccurate, out of date, or identifies someone it should not, email corrections@sexabuselitigation.org with the link to the entry. Requests to remove identifying information are handled first.
