Jury orders Harrisville Central School District to pay $3.5M over 1980s teacher abuse
A state Supreme Court jury ordered the Lewis County district to pay $3.5 million to a former student who alleged a teacher abused him in the early 1980s and that the district took no action after his parents reported it to the principal. The teacher died in 2018, and it is unclear whether the district will appeal.
