New Hanover County school board approves settlement tied to convicted former teacher
The board unanimously approved a settlement, reported at $640,000, with three more former students of a science teacher who pleaded guilty in 2019 to dozens of child exploitation charges. Plaintiffs alleged a principal's failure to act allowed the abuse to continue; an earlier case settled for $5.75 million without admission of wrongdoing.
