Education Secretary issues teacher sexual misconduct guidance, opens probes into 20 districts
Following reporting that California failed to revoke credentials of dozens of educators found to have committed sexual misconduct, the U.S. Education Department issued guidance threatening funding for schools that fail to protect students and opened investigations into 20 districts' handling of staff misconduct. It also opened an inquiry into LAUSD's reassignment policy for accused employees.
